Another Group, Another Book

posted Friday, 11 April 2008

Last night I went to an organizational meeting for an Ohio Chapter of Quilts of Valor.  I’m excited to participate in such a worthwhile project for the men and women in our Armed Forces.  Several members of my husband’s family have served in various branches of the military, and my father served during World War II.  Whether or not I agree with current military actions, I think it’s important to support the troops.  Every one of the wounded is somebody’s son or daughter.

I also finished another book this week, Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult.  I don’t have strong opinions of this book one way or the other.  I thought real hard at page 53 and again at page 75 about moving on to a different book.  The book starts slow, but the pace picks up after the first hundred pages.  The book centers around memories, those we remember and those we don’t.  You can read more about this book and several others the author has written here.
