I painted more white on white (WOW) fabric last night using a blue/black paint mixture and a blue/brown paint mixture. The two do not look noticeably different. Next time I’ll add more black and brown to see if it distinguished them.
After three rounds of this I figured out that the best WOW fabrics for this technique have about a 50/50 or 40/60 ratio of texture to fabric. Fabrics with small scattered texturing, like the one on the upper left, and fabrics with almost solid texture, like the one on the upper right, do not work as well. So far, all fabric has come from the scrap boxes. Now that I know what to look for I’ll start buying other fabrics to try.
I also painted larger pieces this time because the scraps in the center of the picture are all I had left after I pieced the stocking block. They also show a comparison of the plain blue to the mixed blues.
I have a project planned and will post updates as I start stitching these fabrics into blocks.
Since it’s Sunday, I’ll also list the stash report here. I had a small finish pictured in the last post and nothing added.
