Tuesday, 29 April 2008 7:21 P GMT-05
I am moving forward with my April TIF piece.  I started with a square of white fabric painted yellow.   I ironed on stars cut out of freezer paper, then sponged on pink metallic paint.   I added long shapes, again cut out of

A Little Something to Talk About

Sunday, 27 April 2008 2:41 P GMT-05
I anticipated hanging my head in shame this week over a stash report with numbers moving in the wrong direction.  One of my quilt groups had a mini shop hop planned for yesterday.  I knew I couldn’t visit three shops without buying so

I finished the last six square units, for a total of twelve, on the round robin quilt.   I did not start the corner squares, but I pulled out the fabric and the paper piecing patterns.  If I get them done this week, great.  If n

If I Finished Quilts this Fast……

I finished another book at lunch today.  If I got through my quilting to do list as fast as I get through books I’d be one prolific quilter.  This week’s book was Making Work Work by Julie Morgenstern.  It has since been re

Way Off Track

I’ve fallen behind on the TIF challenge in spite of how much I enjoy it.  March got away from me, so now I’m behind on April too.  I haven’t kept up with everyone’s posts to update their progress, which is my loss.&n

Sunday Stash Update

Sunday, 13 April 2008 1:35 P GMT-05
I didn’t buy any fabric this week, but I came close.  I had it in my hand walking around the quilt shop yesterday then put it back.  My quilt group has a mini shop hop planned in two weeks.  I’m trying to hold out because I

Except for the label, which waits patiently on the ironing board, I’m calling this a finished quilt.   I’ll need to block it so it hangs nice and flat.  I’m so pleased with how the quilting turned out that I will defi

Birthday Box

I had a wonderful surprise waiting for me when I got home one day.  I have a birthday this month so my friend Mrs. Q sent me all this!  Isn’t she a special friend?  I love it all, but the book on stenciling is my favorite.

I signed up for a Quilt University class today called Photographing Your Quilt.  I’m the first to admit that some of the pictures I post suck.  I don’t know how everyone else takes such clear, interesting pictures for their blog

UFO Progress

Tuesday, 1 April 2008 7:28 P GMT-05
Last week I set goals of fixing the out of square problems with the fall round robin and selecting fabrics.  Thanks to retreat I did that and a bit more.  I ended up taking one side of the last border completely off and resewing it because
