The sun shines in a clear blue sky today, the first sunshine in what feels like forever. The stores were crowded with people getting out in the nice weather. Tomorrow’s forecast is more of the same. Spring teases us while winter prepares for its next performance.
Bright sunny days make me want to DO things. Not things like housework, but things like fabric shopping, hiking in the park and planting a garden. I’ll try to hike tomorrow, it’s too soon for a garden and I purposely kept away from the quilt shop. I wouldn’t want a bad stash report just because the sun shines.
Sunshine also reminds me of dyeing fabric because I hang the pieces outside to dry. I dyed quite a bit three or four years ago, but I’ve only dyed once since. I enjoyed dyeing and used some of the fabric in projects. I have no idea why I stopped. Then I browsed through Vicki’s blog today and saw all the wonderful fabric she’s dyed recently. Now I know I have to start dyeing again.
Until I do, here are some pictures of my early dye batches.

It's only 20° today in Chicago, but the sun has been out for the last two
days (FINALLY) so it does feel like spring. I have so much more energy
with sunlight.
Hi Donna! I'm so happy that I have inspired you to get back into dyeing. I
love it when there is another person overcommitted to projects! LOL! I too
am strugglig to get my February TIF piece done. I made some progress
tonight and if I work on in every night this week I might actually get done
by Friday....we'll see.....happy dyeing!
