I returned from retreat early Sunday afternoon and spent the rest of the day unpacking and putting the house in order after the guys had at it. Since I did lots of housework before I left, most of the cleanup involved laundry and food. I refused to do a whole weekend’s worth of dishes so my husband washed them. All in all, it wasn’t too bad.
I think I did more visiting than sewing this retreat because it’s the only time I see some of the ladies. I’d hate to miss out on catching up with them or making new friends. I basted my sister’s quilt, painted some fabric and did some other sewing, which helped the stash totals.
Fabric in this week: 0 yard
Fabric in YTD: 14.5 yards
Fabric out this week: 4.33 yard
Fabric out YTD: 29.41 yards
My friend Peggi was kind enough to let me share pictures of the quilt blocks she worked on. These blocks measure 28 inches and will make a king size quilt. The appliqué pattern came from a McCall’s Quilting magazine, but she couldn’t remember the designer’s name. The quilt in the magazine did not have the log cabin piecing in the background. She machine appliquéd those blocks for what seemed like forever, but she got all the ones she had fused done. I can’t wait to see the finished quilt.
Speaking of McCall’s Quilting, one of the other women worked on the Grandma’s Country Album 1 pattern by Robert Callaham that the magazine printed about ten years ago. The blocks were worth all the time she put into them. I can’t wait to see that one finished either.
